My Ringo can't connect to the networkUpdated 2 years ago

If your phone cannot connect to the network, there are several things that might cause this issue.

Bad soldering - some soldering joints are either bridged or not properly connected. Please check all of your contacts and fix some if they don’t look good. Here are some examples of how the joints should look.

Wrongly inserted SIM card - this is a common problem, but it’s also the easiest fix. Just put the SIM card so that the golden connectors are facing upwards and the little plastic cutout facing away from the phone. Then after doing that, power your Ringo off and on again.

The antenna is not properly connected - on 4G versions of the phone, there are multiple connectors on the network module. The antenna cable needs to be connected to the one that says MAIN. Also, make sure the antenna is properly placed in the cutout and that it is not bent too much.

The area has a low-strength signal - the antenna on Ringo is unfortunately not as strong as on modern smartphones, and we’ve seen different results depending on the carrier and your location. That’s why if you’re inside a house or in a place where the signal is not quite strong, the phone might get no reception.

Go to the area with a stronger signal (or near a window if you’re indoors) in order to get the connection. Also, try switching to a different service provider since different providers have different network coverage in certain areas. For example, some of our USA customers in certain regions are getting better reception from AT&T compared to T-mobile.

The SIM card is not activated - if the SIM card is new, it is possible that it still hasn’t been activated. Check the provider’s instructions on how to activate the SIM card. It’s usually done with a simple phone call or a text message.

Still not sure?
